So you’re one of the lucky people who got their Ingress Activation code?  Well before you set out into the world of capturing and defending portals there are a few things you should know.
First off it is very important to remember that Ingress is still in beta, and that you are a beta tester.  Meaning it is falling on your shoulders to help make the game the best it can be.  You can take this as serious as you want to and work hard to make the game better or you can just enjoy being one of the first people to play it.

Secondly you should head over to the Ingress Support page and take a look at the Ingress Community Guidelines. These are some rules that everyone who is playing Ingress should follow.  If you see anyone breaking these rules then you should report them as it is a privilege to be able to play Ingress at this point in time and they shouldn’t be abusing it.

If you do witness a player not following the rules or you find a bug with the game you should go to the Ingress Support page and click on ‘Contact Us’.   This will bring up a simple form that will let you specify what kind of contact you need to submit to them and help ensure it gets to the proper people.  If you find bugs with the game or issues with portals make sure to report them, don’t rely on others because it may be up to you!

Finally, and this is the most important one, be safe!  Don’t hack and drive and make sure you are always paying attention to your surroundings.  It’s easy to get caught up in the game and lose track of what’s happening around you.
